Confessions of a Triple Shot Betty In Love by Jody Gehrman

Geena is freaking out. She’s been going out with Ben for five months, their relationship is comfortable and perfect, and then Bam! he’s suddenly putting the pressure on to be way more physical. She’s not sure she’s ready.

Enter Mr. Rex Sands, Geena’s delectably hot and brilliant English substitute teacher (he speaks to her soul!), on whom her best friend Amber develops an immediate crush when he stops by the Triple Shot Betty coffee shack. Amber needs Geena’s help talking to him because he is such an intellectual, so Geena finds herself writing love notes, MySpace messages, and texts to Mr. Sands under Amber’s name. And he writes back! Geena is just doing it all for Amber (sort of), so it’s not technically cheating on Ben . . . right? In this romantic and playful update of Cyrano de Bergerac, Jody Gehrman reintroduces readers to Geena, Amber, and the Sonoma gang as they walk the rocky and confusing path toward true love.

To be honest, right after I read the last page of Confessions of a Triple Shot Betty, I went to my bookcase and pulled Confessions of a Triple Shot Betty In Love right out.  It's always scarry to read the sequel to a very good (possibly a favorite) book becase the sequel could possibly...suck.  But never fear, that's not the case here!

Fast forward from the lovely Summer setting to a post christmas break scheme, the girls are up to their scheming and crazy antics.  To be honest, I didn't really apreciate the new setting since it's pretty much the one I'm in now.  Which sucks.  But that's just me.

Anyways, Jody Gehrman is a fantastic writer and she did not disappoint!  Geena's witty voice and charming diary entries are just as great as book one, and most of the characters we love are back.  New problems arise when the new girl and new teacher come to town and Geena and Amber's spunky attitudes never fail to be entertaining.

Once again, there aren't many negative things I can say about this book.  Sure, some of it is somewhat cliche and pretty excpected, but I still loved it all!  I guess the thing I hated the most was the lack of Hero, although we still got to hear of her through e-mails, it wasn't enough.  But it's not really a major problem though, since Amber and Geena's drama was already plenty enough.  Jody Gehrman kept the  story refreshing and got me to laugh out loud (in French class) a multitude of times.

Confessions of a Triple Shot Betty In Love is just as great as the first.  If you haven't read it, I really suggest you do, because Summer is waiting, and the lattes are brewing!

Just like Confessions of a Triple Shot Betty, Confessions of a Tripple Shot Betty In Love gets the Gold Moody Seal of Approval!
