Lips touch 3 times by Laini Taylor

Everyone dreams of getting the kiss of a lifetime - but what if that kiss carried some unexpected consequences? A girl who?s always been in the shadows finds herself pursued by the unbelievably attractive new boy at school, who may or may not be the death of her. Another girl grows up mute because of a curse placed on her by a vindictive spirit, and later must decide whether to utter her first words to the boy she loves and risk killing everyone who hears her if the curse is real. And a third girl discovers that the real reason for her transient life with her mother has to do with belonging literally belonging to another world entirely, full of dreaded creatures who can transform into animals, and whose queen keeps little girls as personal pets until they grow to childbearing age. From a writer of unparalleled imagination and emotional insight, three stories about the deliciousness of wanting and waiting for that moment when lips touch.

The first story, Goblin fruit is about Kizzy who dosen`t really fit in.  Her family is odd, her friends are odd, her life is odd!  But one day a new boy from school has a sudden interest in our Kizzy and he causes her to do things she would never dream of doing, like skipping school.  Although her family had warned her about the supernatural, Kizzy still dosen`t understand the consequences that come with this cute, new guy.

"Spicy Little Curses Such as These" begins in Hell with the meeting between a demon and an ambassador to Hell, a woman known as "the old bitch." The demon despises children, and it is Ambassador Estella's job to save as many of the children that the demon kills as she can. In return for their lives, the ambassador must sacrifice people, murderers or other criminals. On this particular day, the demon offers her all ten of the children he just had killed in an earthquake for free. As usual, "free" is too good to be true and comes with a price: the young ones will be saved if the ambassador will curse a baby girl with the most beautiful voice ever heard. The catch? Anyone who hears her utter a sound will drop dead. Estella is horrified but feels she has no choice but to allow the baby to be cursed since it will save ten innocent lives. So she places the curse on the newborn as required but adds an addendum of her own - that the child will not make a sound until she is old enough to understand what she does.

The third and final story, Hatchling.  It is about the lives of Mab and her daughter Esme.  When she was younger, Mab had been abducted by Druj and was the impregnated with Esme.  Mihai, who is a Druj had helped Mab escape so that she could live a normal life with her daughter but the day Esme turns 14 all sorts of creatures come to hunt her.

At first, I really liked this story.  It was fast paced and it got to the point, it was really okay.  But the ending was just that, an ending.  But this ending didn`t really contain any conclusion, just an ending.  Euh..an open ending wasn't really what I was hoping for, since anything could have happened. (duh).  Overall I'd give this story a 2.5/5

The next sory, Spicy little curses, such as these was my favorite story, since it was the most complete of the 3 and had a better conflict.  And oh man, the drawings done by Jim di Bartolo, Taylor's husband were magnificently beautiful.  Each drawing had a way of telling the story.  So to summ it p, the second story was darker and better and simply great!  I'd give it a 4.5/5

I found the last sory, Hatchling to be kind of dull and confusing at first but as you continue to read more of Mab's past becomes knowne and the confsion lead to interest and the dullness leads to  excitement.  The sotry was kind of dark since some very disturbing things have happened to Mab in her childhood.

So what did I think of the book?  I thought it was okay but the book is very unique and different so that kind of makes up fot it.  Does it have the moody seal of aproval?  Yes, yes it does.
