A season of Eden by J.M Warwick

He's my teacher. I shouldn't be alone with him. But I can't help that he's irresistible. I let the door silently close at my back. He stared at me, and a taut quiet stretched between us. "I like hearing you play," I said, moving toward him. He turned, in sync with my slow approach. He looked up at me but didn't say anything. I rested my clammy hand on the cold, slick body of the baby grand. "May I?" The muscles in his throat shifted, then he swallowed. "Eden." My knees weakened, like a soft tickling kiss had just been blown against the backs of them. "Is it okay?" I asked. His gaze held mine like two hands joined. He understood what I was really asking. "Let me stay," I said. "Please." "You're going to get me in trouble," he said.
There is a very limited number of books that fly around the idea of teacher/student romances.  When the teacher is old and wrinkly, I kinda gotta say ew.  But when the teacher doesn't have that much of an age difference with the student, I can deal since I love me a forbidden romance!

Eden is your typical rich girl: pretty, pretty friends, awesome parties, popular and popular boyfriend...but she isn't as shallow as you'd think.  Her mother died and her father remarried to a young girl, just a few years older than Eden (like father like daughter??).  In fact, I really liked Eden!

James on the other hand is just amazing (SWOON).  He is probably one of my favorite male book characters in a while, he was just so refreshing and nice...and what not.  Definitely different than normal male romance...person, ex: he's a teacher...

Unlike most books the story is more about falling in love than the lure and lust, thankfully.  It's one of those books you can really appreciate!  Eden, as a character really grows in the novel and matures and that's something I love to see in books, when characters evolve!

Don't worry about the age difference, it was just a 4 years age difference, which is not a problem at all.  And the relationship is pretty innocent in itself.  It was a story about falling in love with someone you can't have.  Simple as that.

So basically, the book is a light read and the story is more about growing up, coming to terms with certain factors in life and falling in love, than it is falling in love with a teacher, sneaking around blah blah but rest assured, the book has a bit of that as well.  Pretty much the best of both worlds.

Ms Warwick must have had a hard job of ending this book without upsetting the readers, but she did a fantastic job and definitely satisfied me!

Loved it!  Moody seal of approval = attained!
